Adem Andrew, Programme Manager at the Eastern and Southern African Small-Scale Farmers Forum (ESAFF) explains why his project KilimoMart, an app in English and Kiswahili linking small scale farmers to the EAC regional agricultural markets and to each other, received a special boost during the time of COVID-19.

Short BIO
Andrew Adem is a Programme Manager at the Eastern and Southern Africa Small Scale Farmers' Forum Uganda, which is the largest small-scale farmers’ policy influencing movement in Uganda. At ESAFF Uganda, Andrew is campaigning for favourable policies, laws and practices that contribute to the improvement of livelihoods of small-scale farmers, especially women. Furthermore, he is implementing the KilimoMart App funded by IIDEA and. Through the KilimoMart App, ESAFF Uganda is working towards achieving economic empowerment of small-scale farmers in the EAC region through promoting access to regional markets. Andrew is passionate about not leaving anyone behind as the EAC integrates.
