Short BIO
Dr Irene Lukassowitz is a trained journalist and veterinary surgeon. For many years, she worked for German Federal institutions on public health with a focus on risk and crisis communication. Irene caught the “Africa” virus years ago. She loves the continent and lived and worked in South Africa for almost eight eight years. Since 2017, she has managed the Support to Pandemic Preparedness in the EAC region (PanPrep) project from Arusha, Tanzania.
