From AI Ambition to Implementation: East Africa Advances Responsible AI in Education
East Africa is advancing efforts to integrate AI responsibly into education systems across the region. At the 2nd EAC Regional Conference on Education in Nairobi, the EAC AI Alliance brought together policymakers, academia and industry to move discussions towards institutional action. Discussions reinforced priorities around stronger AI governance, investment in local-language capabilities, talent development and regional standards. With new regional commitments agreed in Nairobi, the focus now turns to implementation and measurable progress.
