EAC and Germany Launch 2nd Artificial Intelligence Innovation Challenge to Equip East African for the Digital Economy

On 11th August the East African Community (EAC) and the Government of Germany launched the second edition of the EAC Artificial Intelligence Challenge, dubbed AI4EAC, expanding opportunities for young people, researchers and entrepreneurs across the region to gain AI skills and develop practical solutions to East Africa’s challenges. The second edition aims to reach 20,000 East Africans and comes with USD 50,000 in prize funding to support winning teams developing AI-powered solutions to regional challenges.

EAC and Germany Renew Cooperation to Advance Regional Integration with €39.8 Million in New Grant Funding

The East African Community (EAC) and the Federal Republic of Germany have renewed their commitment to advancing regional integration following the conclusion of Development Cooperation Negotiations at the EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, with Germany committing €39.8 million in new grant funding to strengthen regional trade and economic integration across the region.

EABC, EADB and German Development Cooperation Announce East Africa CEO & Investment Forum 2026 at Tanzania CEOs Trade & Investment Roundtable

The Chief Guest of the EABC CEOs–Trade & Investment Roundtable Tanzania Edition, H.E. Amb. Stephen P. Mbundi, Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC) lauded the East Africa CEO and Investment Forum 2026, scheduled for 17 to 18 September 2026 in Nairobi, as a platform to champion East Africa as one of the most ideal investment destinations on the continent. The Forum hosts a special delegation of 50 investors from the European Union, led by Mr Manfred Pentz, State Minister for Federal, European and International Affairs and Bureaucracy Reduction of the State of Hesse, Germany.
